A Wild Month For Stocks, Crypto, NFTs and Pretty Much Everything Else In Between
The month May has been pretty unforgiving. The S&P is down -7%, the Nasdaq is down -10%, Bitcoin is down -18%, NMR is down -46% and NFT indexes are down -50% for the month. Even alternative assets such as collectables, trading cards and traditional art are down between -10% and -40% YTD depending on asset class.
We also witnessed the collapse of Terra and its associated stable coin UST as well as the intermittent depegging of USDT.
Richard Sells ALL His ETH…But Keeps His NMR
On May 8th, Richard tweeted:
bought ETH for 26c a few years ago, sold it all today for ~$2500… some thoughts

The main conclusion is ETH has become too correlated to BTC and the global capital markets. He is on the hunt for more decorrelated assets.

Global Numerati Meetup’s
ia_ai_joe has taken up the job to help collect votes on the location of the first CoE Numerai Sponsored Global Numerati Meetup and London was selected taking 36% of the total vote. He also went on the hunt to find a good location as well as took a vote to find the best date July. Sat, July 16th 2022 was selected by vote and the location has been chosen.
