NFTees
When the Meta Model awakens from its deep dream — seething, omnipotent and perfect — what will you be wearing?
On February 8th, Numerai gave us a special surprise, 2 NFTees per account for free(gas only). NFTs over the past year have risen up to become a multibillion dollar industry in the crypto space. NFT’s or, a non-fungible token, is a digital asset that cannot be copied, substituted, or subdivided, that is recorded in a blockchain, and that is used to certify authenticity and ownership. Everything from digital art collections, to blockchain metaverses, to music, to photography, to utility tokens, all they way to more recently, “Kevin”, NFTs along with direct wallet connections to websites have birthed what the crypto community has called “WEB3”.

Here is some background direct from the Numerai NFTee website:
In 2016, Numerai created the most iconic crypto T-shirt in the world: the white Numerai sigil on a black tee.
Worn by Numerai data scientists in Tangiers, freedom fighters from Bahrain to Baghdad, Ukrainian gypsies and Kathleen Breitman.
But while distracted building the world’s last hedge fund, we neglected to put these tees on the blockchain where they belong. An oversight which led to the rise of a variety of gimcrack burlesque clothing objects polluting the blockchain while the Numerai community lay naked.
Today, the Numerai community is taking back what’s ours – the rightful position as the premier blockchain fashion house – with a new dematerialized sartorial gesture: the Numerai NFTee.
Each tee in the 6,000-piece collection is rendered over AI-imagined art.

How do I get one?
We are giving 2 NFTees to all tournament participants who have ever had 1 NMR or more at stake by the close of Round 302 on Monday, February 7th.
You will need to install the MetaMask browser extension and load it with some ETH to cover gas. Then connect MetaMask, and mint your tees.
If you have any questions, visit our chat.
There is some speculation in the chat that NFTee’s could be used in some way for the tournaments such as staking or burning mechanisms but nothing official has been stated yet by the Numerai team.

Background: I want to connect with the maximum number of active and interesting members of the community at numeraicon
Assumption: cost of travel may cause hardship for some and block them from attending Proposal: Five "numeraicon fellow" need-based travel stipends. Designate a CoE member to privately receive messages, take the person’s word that this stipend is infact needed (no onerous proofs). Only requirement is that the person is active in the community. CoE privately and at their sole discretion decide who (if any people) receive it. Estimated cost: ~$3-5k.
The vote passed and google form was passed though chats and social media.
The form closed on Feb 28th with 5 people submitting interest. We are currently contacting and working out funding to get these participants to Numercon for free.

This is by far the most requested feature for NumerBay and probably the most difficult to implement: the ability to stake on others’ models directly with profit sharing.
I’m starting this thread to brainstorm user requirements and ideas for implementation. Feel free to comment below.

Newly Redesigned “Steak” Management
On Feb 27th, pschork announced newly redesigned staking modal changes with support for stake drains and faster stake release schedule based on models last active round.
Under the Release tab, you can now hit the Drain checkbox to receive 100% of your model's stake value on the release date, including any earnings compounded in the meantime. While draining, your model's at-risk stake value will be 0 and you will not be able to increase your stake.

Feb 6th- Stake and Wallet transaction reports through 2021 are now available for Download via the Account -> Setting page
Feb 12th- We have added an updated stake transaction report on Account -> Settings page that breaks out stake increase funding source (ie wallet NMR vs stake credits)
Feb 18th- Effective immediately we are raising the Remove Earnings *payout floor* to 1NMR to qualify for direct wallet payouts. If you have remove earnings enabled, but your round payout is below the 1NMR floor, the payout will go directly into your stake instead of your wallet. This is to avoid on-chain transfers where gas fees far exceed actual payout value.

Feb 27th- I’m getting hints that Numerai could soon start trading stocks in the same way that AlphaZero plays Go i.e. at an alien super intelligence level. Some of these hints come from a handful of new things I’ve seen like diffusion models, self-supervised learning and data augmentation. I’m curious if any young AI people or data scientists are interested to help out by working directly with me remotely on these new methods.
